Yesterday it started snowing in the Portland area and because this is not the usual weather here pretty much everything shuts down. The snow has continue to fall today for most of the day. I like how everything seems so peaceful and bright. This Caribbean girl did not grew up with snow, and I did not see my first snow until I move to go to college in Bozeman Montana. Sometimes I miss the snow. I miss the light reflecting from it, making everything seem more colorful, day and night.

I am really exited to support this kickstarter campaign. I have been following Mohop for some time and have been coveting their shoes since the first time I saw them. These shoes have so many things going for them from the interchangeable colorful straps, which makes them so versatile. The beautiful wood, which makes them so warm and timeless. Or just because the warm weather girl in me can't resist sandals. I just love the idea of how these simple shoes can be worn so many different ways and I love supporting other artisans trying to make a living doing what they love. It can be the fact that I am drawn to the design aesthetics of Annie, a fellow architect who started the company. Or that they are orignally made in Chicago one of my favorite cities. Whatever it is? I am a fan! and a happy supporter of these American artisan echo conscious made shoe designers and makers.

Lately, from the week end: homemade cranberry sauce, and batch cooking meals for the whole week because really there is not much time for home cook meals during the regular week. This week is turning out to be one of the busiest at work, after almost two months of long hours we are finally taking some time off for the Holidays. We will be "stay" vacationing and I can't wait.

So here it is. It’s been finally fall for a little while and all the things I had planned before the summer was over are still left to do. I have been sewing very sporadically which makes me a little sad.
Lately I have been very consume with my day job and it’s been hard to find the energy to find my sewing zen. I have been doing a few custom projects. This was a very fun make, from designing and building to figuring out how to make a mostly leather bag with the limited tools in the space I have.
At times I have been delving into some selfish sewing here and there. I never find enough time to keep the momentum but at least I get my sewing happy whenever I can on the week ends.
I have many ideas and plenty of pent up energy in my head. I am hoping soon I can actually act on it. I really want to get back to making more handbags and filling up the virtual shop.
For now at least I have cooking as a creative outlet.
You know because I need to eat anyways.
Where do you find your happy?

Slow but sure the Limon Merengue shop still open. Check out the etsy shop for some bags at big discounts. We want to make room and time for making new things in the coming months so help me find a new home for some of the older inventory. Cheers!
